Excitement is building as the closing date for the Knee High Design Challenge applications gets closer.

Over the past couple of weeks we have had loads of insightful conversations with a really interesting and diverse range of people, which is exactly what we were after when we launched the open call, nice!

We are really encouraged by the amount of investment we see people putting into this project. Thank you to those of you who have shared some of your work with us, we look forward to reading more!

Last Thursday we held a networking event, there was a great number of people discussing ideas, finding possible partners and having a great time, which was lovely to see. There was a real buzz in the bar, as people were sharing and comparing ideas and discovering other people with complementary knowledge and experience.

We are receiving more and more applications as the 30th draws near, and our Thursday afternoon drop-ins are seeing more and more people inside our little play space in Gabriel’s Wharf.

As well as drop-ins we have been using the pop-up shop for free fun crafty workshops for families. Our most recent activities being; making simple concertina books and (in the spirit of the Thames festival) inviting children to decorate a fish and fish them out of our meandering tissue paper/chalky Thames. Our workshops, I may add, are also well attended and never without bundles of creativity and talent!

We are really looking forward to more of your applications coming in. In the mean time you can use our Facebook group to meet others that are interested in being involved and find people to work with.

If you would like any last minute advice about criteria or partnerships, drop in to the shop next Thursday 2-5pm or email: kneehigh@designcouncil.org.uk
